RE
Your child's learning journey at Cheswick Green in RE
OUR VISION FOR RE
Children’s critical thinking skills can be developed, their motivation to learn increased, and their knowledge and understanding of, and empathy with people and their beliefs, religious or otherwise, will be enhanced.
CURRICULUM INTENT
By using an enquiry-based model well, children’s critical thinking skills can be developed, their motivation to learn increased, and their knowledge and understanding of, and empathy with people and their beliefs, religious or otherwise, will be enhanced. This approach takes very seriously the philosophy that children are free to make their own choices and decisions concerning religion and belief.
CURRICULUM IMPLEMENTATION
Cheswick Green Primary School follows RE Today for their RE curriculum.
RE Today offers engaging and challenging RE lessons with confidence which include the following religions: Christianity, Buddhism, Hinduism, Islam, Judaism and Sikhism.
CURRICULUM IMPACT
The impact of our curriculum will enable children to:
- Develop critical thinking skills
- Use personal reflection to develop on their own thoughts and feelings
- Grow in subject knowledge about different religions and nurture spiritual development
INCLUSION
RE Today is written as a universal core curriculum provision for all children. Inclusivity is part of its philosophy. Teachers will tailor each enquiry to meet the needs of the children in their classes and scaffold the learning. Please speak to your child's class teacher if you wish to withdraw them from part of our RE curriculum.
